Royall and Susan Tyler

Royall and Susan Tyler, and their alpacas, are located beyond Mongarlowe, near Braidwood,
at the western foot of Mt. Currockbilly. We bought our first alpacas at the end of 1993
and brought them to our property in 1996. Pre-alpacas, Royall taught Japanese literature,
and he is particularly known as the translator of The Tale of Genji.
Our goal as alpaca breeders is to breed grey and black animals that retain the qualities of
beauty and liveliness that we first appreciated, but also come to have better fleece with each
new generation.
